PROMOTE 2026 served as an ideal platform for the Business Unit Transport (BUT) and, by extension, for Cameroon Telecommunications as a whole. The historic operator placed particular emphasis on its Data Center located in Zamengoé.
As CAMTEL’s flagship showcase at PROMOTE 2026, this infrastructure, built in accordance with international standards, was presented to visitors in all its diversity as a pillar of Cameroon’s digital sovereignty. It enables local data hosting, secures data flows, and reduces dependence on foreign servers.
Furthermore, the Business Unit Transport showcased its nationwide backbone network, which is essential for interconnecting regions and supporting the digital economy.
From a strategic perspective, our objective was to highlight the digital resilience that Cameroon has developed through CAMTEL in the face of cyber threats and geopolitical pressures.
A Nod to SMEs and the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem
Blue Solutions, including offers tailored to small and medium-sized enterprises, combining connectivity, hosting, and managed services, were presented. These offers were expertly promoted by the BUF.
The international component led by the BUT highlighted CAMTEL’s various gateways to international markets. Through this initiative, CAMTEL positions itself as a facilitator of SME integration into the global digital economy. The target audience was able to appreciate the demonstrated productivity improvements, the proposed reduction in operational costs, and the enhanced competitiveness.
The Digital Hub of Sub-Saharan Africa
PROMOTE 2026 enabled Cameroon Telecommunications to demonstrate that this vision championed by the BUT is far more than just an aspiration. To the satisfaction of thousands of visitors, CAMTEL addressed the digital divide by emphasizing the considerable efforts made to expand its coverage and, of course, simplify its offers to make them accessible to underserved rural and urban populations.
These solutions promote e-learning through numerous partnerships signed with various universities across the sub-region. This impact is further strengthened through training initiatives aimed at developing skills and competencies.
Institutional Positioning
It should be noted that PROMOTE 2026 enabled CAMTEL to strengthen its visibility among policymakers, investors, and international partners, while consolidating its role as a strategic operator beyond the simple provision of telecommunications services.
