The 2026 edition of the Economic Forum for Import-Substitution with Latin American Countries (FEIPAL) closed on Thursday, 23 April, at the Hotel de Ville in Yaoundé after three days of panels, exhibitions, and high-level dialogue.
The forum convayed ministers, mayors, tech entrepreneurs, and development partners to examine how municipalities can drive digital transformation, job creation, and teritorial equity.
Throughout the forum, Cameroon Telecommunications (CAMTEL) emerged as a recurring reference point for public-private collaboration and infrastructure delivery.
The closing ceremony on Wednesday was marked by four key moments. It opened with the solemn execution of the National Anthem, followed by the presentation of the general report of the forum.
The programme then proceeded with words of encouragement delivered by invited guests from Latin America and it concluded with a final address by the representative of the Minister Counselor of the Brazilian Embassy in Cameroon, Mr. Chenzet Marsial who commended the forum’s focus on productive alliances and digital sovereignty.
Significantly, FEIPAL formally calls on Camtel to become its official hub of connectivity.
